Texas SEED is a United States Department of Education Supporting Effective Educator Development Award (S423A220084)
Texas SEED is an initiative that focuses on integrating mathematics, social emotional learning, and equity concepts within middle school mathematics education, a critical time for preparing students for advanced mathematics and STEM pathways.
Texas SEED aims to prepare a greater number of middle grades mathematics teachers with the confidence and skills necessary for integrating mathematics, social emotional learning, and equity concepts in their classrooms. We do so through integrated professional development programming with specialized coaching, and advanced educational resources.
Our project was developed around critical needs in education:
- Improving student achievement in mathematics,
- Improving students’ social and emotional well-being, and,
- Improving students’ access to equitable practices and resources.
